Students Give Up Social Networks For Lent

For some, it's chocolate. For others, it's coffee or cigarettes. But as this Easter approaches, some young and devout Christians are anxious to return to what they gave up for Lent: Internet sites Facebook and MySpace. MySpace and Facebook are the largest social networking sites on the web. According to comScore Networks, an online measurement firm, MySpace attracted 64.4 million unique visitors in February. Facebook was the Internet's second-most visited site, with 23.6 average visits per visitor during February. Read the complete article here.

March 2007 marks the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade in England. Much press has been given to the recent movie "Amazing Grace," which eloquently captures the life and mission of William Wilberforce, who led the charge in the abolition fight. Several decades later Lincoln would lead the fight to end slavery in the United States. "Whenever I hear anyone arguing for slavery, I feel a strong impulse to see it tried on him personally."
