One Laptop Per Child Initiative Continues To Gain Momentum

The One Laptop per child initiative, founded by MIT Media Lab Director Nicholas Negroponte, continues to gain momentum, as the country of Rwanda is the latest country to make a commitment to providing low cost laptops to children (read here). The mission of this non-profit association is to develop a low-cost laptop - the "$100 Laptop"- a technology that could revolutionize how we educate the world's children. The goal is to provide children around the world with new opportunities to explore, experiment, and express themselves.

The poll of just under 1,500 youngsters ranked "God" as their tenth favorite thing in the world, with celebrity, "good looks" and being rich at one, two and three respectively.
