Simplify your shopping

December 03, 2008

Necklace At Catalyst this year, we introduced you to the Trade As One organization, a group that is making a significant mark on the world through fairly traded goods. Fair trade isn't just for coffee anymore - Trade As One makes available the bracelets, journals, soccer balls, candles, baskets, chocolate, and tons of other goods that are created by artisans in Asia, Africa, and Central and South America.

Chances are, you're already planning to buy one of these kinds of items for someone on your Christmas list. Get it at TradeAsOne.org to simplify your shopping while strengthening communities and providing business and environmental sustainability for these talented artisans.

Catalyst Vanagon

First Vanagon Trip in CA - Crystal Cathedral!

December 02, 2008

Stopped by the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, CA to meet Rick Mysse, a pastor with the Reformed Church of America.  Rick has been a huge part of Catalyst through the years and is passionate about using his influence to help the younger generation effectively impact people for Christ.  Rick's leadership and influence in the RCA have potential of long lasting impact, not only on a denomicational plane, but also on a cultural plane.

Rick is bringing a crew to Catalyst West in April and is helping us develop key connections with leaders here in Orange County - his heart is for the people of southern California, and it's exciting so exciting to see!  Something tells me this is just the begining of a journey in learning more about what is happening on the front line of ministry out here along the west coat!

COLLABORATE!

Ok, Catalyst loves you and wants you to collaborate with each other - to know each other and work together as a body.

Soooooo ... here's the deal.

Go take someone to lunch at Chick-Fil-A, someone you don't really know that well, someone you can learn from, or work with, or maybe you can help.

We will mail you a $5 Chick-Fil-A gift card (theoretically, this covers the cost of lunch for your "date" but not you).

Your discussion over lunch must not be a regular boring conversation. You have to find-out about each others: gifts, interests, passions, and potential ways you can help each other or work together as the body.

This is only available to the first 10 people who email us a picture of you and your new friend eating lunch at Chick-fil-a (or wherever) holding a sign that says "Catalyst" on it (this is so you don't just email me an old picture of you eating lunch with someone).

And email your address too.
