Video Update From Matt Chandler (12/20)

December 21, 2009

Here is a video update from Matt recorded yesterday, Sunday December 20th.  By now you may have heard about the pathology results revealing the malignant nature of the tumor removed from Matt's brain 2 weeks ago...heartbreaking news leaving a lot of uncertainty and question.  In this video Matt offers his own perspective and expression of hope amidst this chaotic unknown.

Matt, we continue to pray and offer our thanks to you for your surrender, trust, and willingness to share your vulnerable heart through this journey.

Today, Monday December 21st, Matt will undergo an hour long MRI followed chemo-training and a meeting with his radial oncologist.  Please continue to pray...you can follow Matt Chandler via twitter - @MattChandler74

Catalyst Voices - Cal Jernigan (part 2 of 2)

December 17, 2009

Catalyst National Tour - Phoenix
Yesterday we had the chance to hear from Cal Jernigan from Central Christian Church in Mesa, AZ.  He shared about lessons learned during his early years as a new Senior Pastor in a large church.  One of the most compelling characteristics of Cal and Central Christian Church is the healthy culture between their staff and elders.  Cal took some time to share more about this culture and offers very practical insight on the leadership dynamic most often experienced behind closed doors.  How do you minimize suspicion and maximize trust?

Catalyst Voices - Cal Jernigan (part 1 of 2)

December 16, 2009

Catalyst National Tour - Phoenix
Cal Jernigan is an "accidental megachurch pastor"...he shares about how his role as youth pastor lead to an unexpected position with one of the larger churches in the area.  Cal has been serving as Senior Pastor at Central Christian Church for 10 years and took some time to share about the power of a simple phrase he learned in his early years as pastor, "I don't know."  In a paradigm seeminly built on "strengths" it's refreshing to hear from a man who shares how he has grown more from his willingness to admit his weaknesses and need for help.
