An American’s Prayer List

November 05, 2008

If you're short on things to pray about today, here are a few suggestions:

  • Thank God that our country experienced a peaceful Election Day yesterday. There were no bombs, no riots, and no murders (related to the election, anyway). Pray that this peace extends throughout the coming months, to Inauguration Day, and through the beginning of Obama's administration.
  • Pray for wisdom for Barack Obama. Pray that he will become a man after God's own heart, and that he will surround himself with advisors who will enable him to make the best decisions.
  • Ask for God's protection on the Obama family, as well as on the Biden family.
  • Pray that God will use this President and his administration, that God will work through the Congress, and that His kingdom will be furthered.

What else are you praying for?

  2. i am praying specifically that during the coming week, through inauguration day and throughout obama’s tenure as president, that we as christians will be worth of the name.  that we can not become known as individuals who bash obama.

  3. couldn’t agree with you more. My thougths were on the same line not exact but same line.  Just this morning i thought if we would imitate christ we would be heard more clearly and our views would be more likely to be recognized.  However the church is known more for initiating arguments than imitating christ likeness.  The latter is what I want to be known for christ likeness

  4. I’m completely on the same page with you… though I’d add:
      - that he’ll have time to spend with his family and continue to be a good father to his daughters and husband to his wife
      - that the ego-trip that is being president and loved by millions around the world won’t go to his head too much and that he doesn’t have clinton-esque problems as a result
      - that people’s expectations don’t go through the roof b/c he can’t do everything especially as new challenges arrive
      - and whatever else they need that we don’t know about
i elaborated on them here: http://www.notyourmamasreligion.com/articles_view.asp?columnid=3202&articleid=51169

let’s keep praying!! Go Team Obama!!
