"Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you" - Heb 13:17
This is the second post in a weekly series where we invite leaders everywhere to unite in prayer for specific needs. Join with us in bringing these requests before the Throne of Grace.
Last week we invited you to pray for Kingdom Gatherings, this week we're praying for Kingdom Leaders. As the scripture above suggests, we all need good leaders. Unlike the world, we're not praying to get the job of our leader, but rather that he or she would be seek God, hear from God, be good leaders & servants for those they are responsible for. This week, let's pray that our Kingdom leaders would seek, hear, and submit to God. That God would empower their leadership supernaturally, that they would (perhaps) out love, out serve, out sacrifice, out communicate, out Jesus all of us - that they would be a good example to us. And that we would submit to them, and reap the benefits.
In the vast network of the Kingdom, there are a Bajillion leaders to pray for, here are some suggestions:
- Your Pastor
- Your boss
- Your denominational leader (if you have one)
- Other denominational leaders
- Parachurch organization leaders
- The leaders of the other churches in your community
At Catalyst, we are all about leadership. Part of being a good leader is also being a good follower - of Jesus & the leaders over you. Part of being a good follower is praying for your leaders. Take a moment this week to pray for them.
