Courageous Leadership Award

March 24, 2008

Have you heard of the Courageous Leadership Award? For the second year in a row, Willow Creek and World Vision will award $100,000 to the church who most "strategically, intentionally, and creatively leveraged their unique God-given vision, gifts, and resources to address the AIDS issue."

In the vein of the X Prize ("Revolution through Competition"), the Courageous Leadership Award hopes to inspire other churches by honoring those who are winning battles against AIDS.

It's very exciting to see an award like this being used to spur the Church to help with the AIDS crisis. But, does winning money make the church's efforts less authentic? I don't think so, I think it's a great idea. What do you think? Is your church doing anything to battle the AIDS?
