On April 29, 2006, over 70,0000 thousand people in 130 cities across the country joined together for Invisible Children's Global Night Commute. Walking from their homes and schools to a downtown location, they slept outside, joining the invisible children in northern Uganda, whose nightly commute is one of necessity and protection from the longest running war in Africa.
Participants wrote letters to President Bush and to their congressmen, urging our government to take a stand and put an end to child abduction, the need for night commuting, and the war in northern Uganda---one of the worst crises in the world today.
Invisible Children's story is an example of the power of a few young leaders' desire to change the world and the courage to take action. For more information on Invisible Children and how you can get involved, visit
