ThinkChristian recently asked if church is a spectator sport. They highlight the irony that people are often drawn to mega churches to connect with more Christians, but the mega church can also be the most anonymous environment. One of the commenters offered this:
"many, if not most, of these [large] churches don't claim their Sunday morning gathering to be the place that a person is truly known. That happens in home groups, community groups, or the myriad of other small group settings that they provide."
So, what do you think? Is there a problem of anonymity in large churches? If so, is it solved by small groups? OR, if anonymity does exist, is it even a problem?
