4:26PM - West Ridge Church Staff
We just left West Ridge church in Dallas, GA after having a chance to sit down with about 15 people from their staff team. I learned that before you walk into any meeting make sure to check youtube for any videos tagged with the person or persons you are meeting... let's just say our office chair race race was nothing compared with their "Office Style Winter Olympics Video" - hilarious! These guys were a ton of fun, and at the same time opened up and shared about their church story and what they are doing right now as a body of believers purposed towards building the kingdom of God in Dallas, GA. A little over 10 years ago lead pastor Brian Bloye and a team of three other men started a church in Dallas, GA and have since dedicated themselves to living life with people in their community. Their staff has grown from a team of 4 to a team of 50 and their congregation began at 150... now, over three thousand each Sunday. The heartbeat of West Ridge's leadership and staff is crystal clear - people. Time, relationships, patience... this team desires to live life with people in their community and get their hands dirty in the process. Just recently they rallied over 300 volunteers, 6 churches, and 70 businesses to build a brand new house for a family in need - it took them only 20 days to begin and complete the entire project! Brian continues to ask God how their team can leverage their resources to influence their community... they are doing it, and the community is being blessed. When asked what he would say to young leaders today Brian says, "3 things...
- Stay holy. The Lord responds and rewards those that fear Him...
- Keep family first. Serving the Lord should never come at the expense of family...
- It's all about people. It's not about self-promotion; it's grass-roots and organic...
