Maybe they’re mega because they’re doing everything better, or maybe the factor here is the provision of anonymity. The larger the crowd, the less anyone will stand out, and by extension, the less anyone will feel out of place. I think it would be interesting to know not just whether megachurches are better at maintaining a multiethnic congregation, but whether they are better at fostering close, interracial relationships.

One form of segregation I’ve noticed more in mega churches than others, is age segregation. They tend to have separate worship services for children, youth and adults.
