Road Trip Flashback - Ed Young on Betrayal

August 20, 2008

Last week I had the opportunity to speak to a group of youth pastors in Charlotte, NC.  Josh Robertson hosted a youth pastor appreciation day through YCI (Youth Commission International) and invited me to share for a few minutes...I will jump at any chance to say thanks to men and women serving on the front line of the church.

As part of the talk I shared highlights from some of our road trip adventures - here is a flashback to our time with Ed Young while we were in Grapevine, TX.  Ed talks about "betrayal" and our choice to forgive others or swell with bitterness.

What has been helpful for you in the process of forgiving others?

  1. Good stuff… I believe learning the power of forgiveness is one of the keys to success in life.  It also allows the opportunity to SHOW Christ to others.  I think looking in the mirror and understanding that you often betray yourself makes it easier to act in a forgiving way when someone CLOSE enough to kiss you betrays you.

    Thanks for sharing this video.

  2. I was pastoring a church in a small community that went through a church split. It was a devastating experience for me and many people and being in a small town we always bumped into the people who left our church. I just made up my mind to keep forgiving until the pain went away. It was a choice i had to make regardless of my feelings. I also realized my own faults and understood that God forgives me everyday too!

  3. LV, we LOVED having you at the luncheon. You are an AMAZING communicator yourself. Once Catalyst is over this year and you have some downtime, PLEASE come back the Charlotte area and spend some R&R;time with us!
