There's been a sudden rash of celebrity deaths. Farrah Fawcet, Billy Mays over the weekend, and - most notably - Michael Jackson.
This is a reminder that TIME IS SHORT! Our life is but a vapor! (James 4:14, Psalm 39).
Jesus counsels us not to live for our comfort, our selfish desires. Instead, if we give-up our life, we will truly gain it. (John 12:25)
God has given us a mission, and time is short, so let's get crackin!
Are you afraid of stepping-out and following the vision he's given you? Me too! LET'S DO IT ANYWAY!
This world is not our home, and we will have to stand before God and give an account for how we used our "talents" (Matt 25:14-30) and, remember: "To whom much is given, much will be required," Luke 12:48.
GO! GO! GO!
(But it's really, really hard to give-up your life, sacrifice for others, and do the things God wants you to do! Ok, fine, let's encourage each other daily to do these things Heb. 10:24).

This is so true. Time is SHORT. Life doesn’t go on forever, but we fill our lives with busyness so we don’t have to contemplate our mortality. As long as our minds are busy with other tasks, we’re happy with a seemingly endless life. Only when we stop in the quiet of ourselves do we suddenly realize how much of life’s road is behind us and how little is before us. These high profile deaths give us an opportunity, albeit briefly in a 15 min news cycle, to discuss life’s most permanent decision with others. Get at it!

Great post, time is short not only for our life but for the return of Christ. However, I’m reminded of what Martin Luther King Jr. said, “The time is always right to do what is right.” Not only should we recognize the urgency of the situation because of the lives that are being lost every day but also because it is a command given to us by Christ in Matthew 28:19, 20, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” It has always been our responsibility to serve the Lord but what things should we do? I believe that often people fail to follow this “mission/vision” because they don’t know what it is and they don’t know how to accomplish it.
Question: With lives being lost all around us, what should we be doing about it? According to Hebrews 10:24, Love and Good Works. But more specifically what are the responsibilities of every Christian?
