This is amazing on so many levels. As Andy Crouch always asks, "How will this change the boundaries of what's possible and impossible?"
Possible:
- Find great teaching, expertly communicated and show to your church on video
- Maybe more churches can be started faster w/out needing amazing communicators
- Easy way to find a video replacement for your communicator if they're gone or sick.
- FREE access to tons of good teaching
- Might help communicators better learn from and analyze communication style of expert communicators.
- Every video projector in a living room can become a video venue - small groups and house churches can watch Great sermons whenever they want, for free
Impossible:
- If people can just watch it online, will greater numbers of people stop going to a meeting and tithing?
- It will become less possible to charge money for sermon and teaching videos now, perhaps - b/c you can get it for free here.
- Is it now less possible to "put-up with" poor quality teaching?
- Will it become less possible to find an actual pastor teaching at a church, instead of a video screen?
- Will it become less possible to expect a pastor to have a real connection with his supposed "flock," the people he is supposedly caring for?
All of the above are just suggestions - some of which I totally disagree with.
