Most people in rural Rwanda (a small country in the heart of Africa) do not have access to clean water. Women and young children walk for miles to fetch water from swamps and rivers with dirty buckets and canisters. Drinking contaminated water, cost families money for medicines, time away from school, and even the lives of loved ones.
It is amazing that with a simple financial gift we can literally save lives, decrease illnesses, and change communities forever. The Rwanda Clean Water Project has currently raised over $155,000 and more than 38,000 African people are receiving clean water. While the outpouring of support from the Catalyst community has been generous and more than imagined, there is still more to be done.
This Christmas season we are looking for 300 churches to join the growing community who will bring clean water to Rwanda. With a $3000 gift, a community of 750 people in Rwanda will receive clean water. This Christmas, your community, your family, your neighborhood, and your friends can work to give a gift that will change lives forever.
