The West represents the wealthiest and most educated people in the world. As beneficiaries of this environment, how are we as Christians to think about such power? Do we have a special responsibility to take a countercultural view on the privileges that come with this power?   1. In Jesus’ first “sermon” he said it was “Good news for the poor” for us western people we are rich but I know we do not feel lt. so we do have do something for the poor if we say we follow Jesus as the poor are on Jesus’ heart with a passion.
