Q IDEAS | Social Movements
Jim Wallis | Sojourners Magazine

When it comes to politics, Christians often feel frustrated. How can God’s people make an impact against the immovable mountains of injustice, poverty, war, and the degradation of human life? Jim Wallis believes that the answer comes from a new, yet historical perspective on the nature of movements.

  1. Dear Jim
I think politics is about pretending to be people pleaser, but in fact it is about being self pleaser or party members pleaser. In Politics, classes that are excluded from share of power are the classes that are excluded from share of benefits.  In politics we are call citizens of America, Australia, UK, China, Sudan and etc. Politics limits human beings to service only taxpayers and disservice non-taxpayers.  On the other hand, Christian faith is about denying yourself and being Christ like in words and actions and seeking only to please Jesus Christ. In Christian faith we do not have classes, borders, race, color, gender, competition, superior or inferior culture, but we are all equal. We are all God’s children, created in His image excluding terrorists like Osama bin Laden. I believe Christian should be the head not the tail.  They should love being public servant because Jesus Christ was and is till a public servant. He services and represents both tax-payers and non-taxpayers. I would like to be a public servant and make a positive impact on earth, but i still believe that it is not what i will do in politics about injustice, poverty and war that counts but what Jesus did in my life and other people lives.  Our God is a global God, but there is no such thing a global politics on this earth.
    Thanks,
